Being Honest to Oneself

Honesty is an illumination for a one’s life. It creates a genuine, veracious and a right minded person. People should be honest to others as well as themselves. If you cannot be sincere to yourself, it’s difficult to be truthful to the other people. However being honest to oneself is one of the greatest things that can be in you.

During our lifetime we have to face various kinds of happenings. Sometimes we loss and some times we win. And sometimes we are appreciated and sometimes condemned. Anyhow all these things happen according to our behaviour. So we should be able to cultivate good attitudes to face these situations. Honesty is one such good quality that any person should bring about.

As mentioned above the first step of being honest is being open hearted and straight in person. Some times it seems to be a little bit of arduous thing to do, but we should practice it. For an example; in the schools, the students are asked to do some homework by their teachers, perhaps it may be a math’s exercise or an essay or any other thing. Some students completely ignore their homework and the next morning, they copy down the answers from a friend and show it to the teacher. At that time they cheat themselves, not the teacher. Finally at the exams he will get failed and have to suffer. This little simple example shows us how dishonesty leads a person to fall in trouble. Eventually an insincere person is defeated and shirks to anything.

When talking about being honest to one, a person should be truthful by his both speech and deed. But today it’s a difficult thing to find such people in our society. People are having a lifestyle which depends on money. They think that money is everything and even betray their values and good qualities to earn money. So today in the offices and departments of government, we hardly find an officer who woks honestly. Most of them expect a bribe to work for their clients. This shows the dishonesty of people and the collapse of their good morals. However they will never be successful with the money they earn disingenuously.

And honesty is connected with love and friendship too. Today we hear some news about the lovers, especially girls who are involved in a false love and get in to troubles. A true love is always combined with honesty. A true lover should be above board and truthful for his or her partner. This should have not only among the lovers, but also between married couples. Then only they could spend a happy married life for ever. And also the exact friendship also depends if the two friends are honest to each other. Some people make friends to have advantages and profits. It is not the true friendship. Only the Heartful and understanding behaviour of both of them makes a true friendship.

The children and youngsters should be honest to their parents, teachers and other adults. As young children they should not encourage their friends to be dishonest. At an examination if a friend tries to copy and cheat, it is a responsibility avoid him and explain him the retribution of being dishonest.

Anyway it’s quite obvious that being dishonest leads you in to trouble and the honest and unfeigned person will be rewarded and has a good life.
