Borrowing or Lending
The do’s and don’ts of borrowing and lending.
This is my opinion and i am sure many others.Borrowing should be greatly appreciated,as it is done in friendship and good faith.Giving and lending are two very differentent things.Lending means you intend to get this item back,Giving means you don’t want it back. I myself would not expect a cup of sugar back, a book or a item like a pair of earrings.Yes, i want it back. Then there is nothing worse than the borrower saying i will give it right back, or in just a few days, you ask and ask, excuse after excuse.Taken advantage of is what i call it,some of us are too nice. A food item should not be expected back, especially if you borrow back and forth. Otherwise it would be would be nice to replace the item.(example: If you borrow a cup of sugar, replace it with a box of sugar, if you borrow a couple of eggs replace it with a dozen)show your appreciation.
Money should be returned as said and to show appeciatio. Take that person to lunch or make them their favorite cookies or pie,and say thankyou!Clothing items should be returned clean and in same condition as you recieved the item,If the item got stained, torn or ruined in any way. Dry clean repair or replace the item. Most importantly return the item on time.Rental places carry many items. So if you do not want to lend and item because you have been burned in the past, you can suggest rental facilities as an option. You can also just say no.The person who needs a ride or help moving.I call this a good faith deed, as long as it is not excessive. If the ride is too far, don’t be afraid to ask for gas money.Gas money should have been offered anyways.

Nice piece.I like your points. Right now I’m trying not to borrow from the banks with all this credit crunch problems looming around us. It’s all very scary stuff… so close to Halloween too.

Indeed, when you borrow, you should return and appreciate. It’s indeed good to keep your word.
