Can One Remove Stains From Ones Character?

Here are a few thoughts on whether one can remove stains from one’s character?

We all have a history from the moment we are conceived to the day we die, sometimes the journey we take may not necessarily be one of good character as society deems it and the life we lead is far from perfect, then again none of us are perfect but there seems to be certain cardinals sins that often but not always seem unrecoverable such as the following:-

  1. One is very opinionated (I am quiet actually!!)
  2. One has a criminal record and been in prison for crimes such as burglary, fraud, pornography, deception, murder and the list goes on.
  3. One has a poor credit history
  4. One has an unstable work record
  5. One has been known to tell lies
  6. One has been known to cheat on their wives & girlfriends that lead to divorce.
  7. One has a poor health history.

This list is just a snippet of some of the stains in our character that we have to live with, that should be enough but depending on the circumstance and situations we face once this could affect our future, we often forget life is tough with its ups and downs depending on the cards we are dealt.

I do believe that people can be reformed, given chances and it can turn around for the better, certain things depending on the nature of your stain will prevent you moving into some areas because of laws that this country has in place but generally your misfortunes can help many people, not everyone will want you to turn your life around but those you help will be glad and will look upon you as a role model.

God does See these mistakes on our character so differently than those who God appoints in his church and more so that of the world.

There are biblical and worldly characters we can research to gain inspiration and motivation from but we need to be reassured there is a time and place for things to occur in our lives, when we appear to go through dry period’s and nothing we seem to do works there will come a time where strength will come your way and you will be successful although it is hard to keep focused when attempting to overcome the huge obstacles and giants in our way.

Whatever stains are on your character for better or worse I hope that you will find yourself in a place where people will accept your for who you are, get the best out of you to enable you to function to the best of your abilities and fulfil your potential rather than undeveloped potential. Keep smiling, developing and looking forward.
