Combat Fatigue
Do you wake up every morning, full of life? Do you jump out of bed raring to go? If not, these tips will help you on your way to a fatigue-free life.
Start the day well by eating a good breakfast. Your breakfast should contain carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
For more on this see Energizing Breakfasts.
Make sure you know where you are going. Determine what you want to achieve in your day. Make a list and try and prioritise or order your tasks. This will help you feel more focused and give order to your day, which in turn will help you feel more energetic.
Resolve your problems. Whether it is a problem at work or a family feud, try your best to sort it out as these can really zap your energy.
Don’t just sit in front of the TV all evening, this can actually make you feel more lethargic. Try to get up and do something more creative with your spare time.
Exercise. It can actually make you feel more energetic, so even if hitting the gym or going for a brisk walk is the last thing you feel like doing, give it a go. Exercise helps reduce stress and can also help you to get a better nights sleep.
Learn how to delegate and say no. Don’t let yourself get too bogged down by obligations and commitments.
Don’t burn the candle at both ends. Trying ti juggle a career, a family and a social life is no good for anyone and will soon leave you feeling frazzled. Try to share household chores or childcare with your partner and leave work at work.
Music can help you feel energized. Music can make you smile and lift your mood and if you can even dance around and sing along if you feel like it.
See Songs to Make You Smile and Songs to Make you Want to Dance.
Curb your caffeine intake. One or two cups a day is fine and can pick you up, but too much is bad for you. Excessive caffeine can fool your body into thinking you have more energy than you actually do and can lead you into a vicious circle of caffeine highs and lows.
Remember the old adage, a change is as good as a rest? Try changing your routine around a little. Even if it is only taking a different route to work, it can have a positive impact on how you feel.
