Splitting major tasks into various small parts and achieving them one by one is another way of reaching the target easily. Calmness of mind is an absolute necessity when you are expected to solve problems in a limited period of time.

You can gather information from observation, which eventually gets linked to your already stored data in the brain to give new impression about the subject. Pay good attention to the gathered information and filter them and classify according to its priority. It is important that you can relate the ideas clearly with the objective.
Some software tools can help you in solving data related problems. Microsoft Excel can be used to analysis data with various features available in Excel.

This is a good article. Complexity of a problem lies in difficulty to reach a solution. It is directly proportional to the number of factors that are affected by the solution. It is true that some complex problems are easily solved by applying simple logic.
