Control Our Temper in Three Steps

Do you get angry easily? If you do, read the following article to see how to control your temper.

I would like to begin my article by telling you a story. The story is called the king and his hawk. The king in this story was Genghis Khan, who was the Emperor of the Mongolian Empire. Genghis Khan was a great king who led his army into China and Persia. In every country, people said that since Alexander the Great there had been no king like him. But eight hundred years ago, despite his power, Genghis Khan learned a lesson as a result of losing his temper.

One morning, the king rode out hunting with his friends. On his wrist, the king carried his favourite pet, his hawk. In those days, hawks were trained to hunt game. The hunters expected to take a lot of game home in the evening. But all day long the king and his huntsmen did not find as much game as they expected. Towards evening, they started to make their way home. Most of the party took the shortest way, while the king went by a longer route through a valley between two mountains.

The day had been hot, and the king was very thirsty. The hot days of summer had dried up all the mountain brooks. At last, to his joy, he saw some water trickling down over the edge of a rock. Because of the hot, dry weather, the stream came only one dropat a time. The king leapt from his horse. He took a little silver cup from his hunting bag. He held it so as to catch the slowly falling drops. It took a long time to fill the cup; the king was so thirsty that he could hardly wait. At last it was nearly full. He put the cup to his lips, and was about to drink. Suddenly the cup was knocked from his hands. The water was all spilled on the ground. The king looked up to see who had done this thing. It was his pet hawk.

The king picked up the cup, and held it to catch the trickling drops again. This time he did not wait so long. When the cup was half full, he lifted it towards his mouth. But again the hawk knocked the cup from his hands. And now the king began to grow angry. He tried again, and for the third time the hawk kept him from drinking. The king was now very angry indeed.
