Most people have been in debt at one time or another in their lives and everyone has their own reasons why they have come to owe money. If you owe money – no matter how much it may be, then make the time to take control of your finances and
put yourself in charge of your debt.
Take Control of Your Debt and Feel Better Today
- Be honest with your self. Let’s face it; many of us have got into a financial pickle because we haven’t been honest about what we can afford or how we are going to pay for it. Acknowledging where you are at right now and working out exactly how much you owe (and to whom) is the first step you must take. If you are going to take controlof your debts then you must know what you are dealing with – warts and all! Don’t spend half the night awake worrying and guesstimating exactly what you owe – know the facts, write them down and tackle the issues one by one. If your debt has been spiralling out of control and you have been ignoring your letters/bills by leaving them unopened – sit down with a cup of tea and OPEN them. You need to know what debts you are dealing with.
2.Confide in someone. If you are worried about your financial position then you must talk about your fears with somebody that you trust. If you try to keep them to yourself, you will only make your self more anxious. A problem shared is a problem halved – your partner, friend or parent will probably not be in a position to halve your debt but your anxiety is sure to be lowered just by having someone with whom to talk things through. Many people worry about owing money and being in debt because they are afraid to share their money worries. Keeping it to yourself will not help you pay off your debt. Other carefully chosen people will be able to offer you a listening ear and even advise you on how to take control of your debts.
