Failure is Our Greatest Teacher
Many people have a huge crippling fear of failure. However, there are a lot of people really fear any amount of failure, no matter how small and thus do not small. Would some of the most successful people out there be as successful if they had feared failure?
We step into many different roles in life. Many roles we excel in, some roles we just merely do adequate work in. However, there is another outcome that many do tremble at the mention of. That outcome is going to be complete and utter failure where everything that can potentially go wrong did in fact go wrong.
Many people fear taking steps that could be consider bold, because they fear that they are going to fail big time. They are afraid that one little failure is going to destroy their attempts of success for the rest of their life. This is rather true in the world of business as many people run the business with the same pat hand that they have done for years. Unfortunately after a time, their competitors long since pass them by and thus many businesses, unwilling to think outside of the little box they have created. Thus that box closes in and crushes them.
They are afraid to try because of the prospective of failure. They are afraid to do anything daring in case they have failed. However, what if you succeed?
And on the other hand, so what if you fail?
Failure is a Harsh but Useful Teacher
There are many times where anyone, individuals, businesses, or anyone continue to fail. It is not the measure of how many times that you fail that truthfully matters. It is the measure of how many times you can rebound from failures. You can learn more from one moment of failure than years of success in numerous ways.
We’ll get to that happy moment of success eventually but those who have succeeded have failed far too many times. The most successful people know valuable lessons. Why do they know those valuable lessons? Most of the time they have had many humbling failures along the way, that really shaped who they were? Did they cry and boo-hoo about their failures? No, they learned from the mistakes and kept going back to the drawing board.
It might be a small detail, it might be a big detail, but whatever the detail is, it is important to learn from your mistakes and your failures. But it is counterproductive to be afraid of failure, as those who cower from the small possibility of failure, will not go that far in their success.
The worst thing to do is never to try anything new and daring. You never know unless you make the attempt. If something flops, at least you know. But if it succeeds, then it could lead to big things.
You never will know if you fear the prospect of failure.

The question we should ask ourselves sometimes is “what would I do if I was not afraid?’ and the answer is simple..we would just do it!
I love this article because failure is a subject that sparks my interest and you have written this very well. Bravo!

We learn more from failure than from success. With failures, we see what we do wrong and remember not to do it again. “You never will know if you fear the prospect of failure.” <– that is SO true.

Well said. The fear of failure can often lead to failure. Rebounding from failure makes us stronger.

You are absolutely right then. Sometimes we need to go through the process of some failures until we achieve success.

Fully agree with you. The fear of failure is also the greatest cause of failure.

I am a perfect definition of a person who’s afraid of failures. It’s hard for me to cope up from mistakes/failures because I am a fragile person but it’s good that I’m overcoming this weakness. Thanks for this wonderful article. It may have “ouched” me but it truly helps and necessary. I’ll be on a look out to read more from you. Enjoyed and pressed like on this one!

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career, I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty six times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over in my life. And that’s why I succeed!” – Michael Jordan

This is very true. There is no success without failure. And yes, the worst thing is to stay stuck and don’t risk doing something new. Good information

I agree with your point. There is no teacher like failure otherwise we would never know success and we would’n have the stimulus to go on.
