Fear is Nothing More Than False Evidence Appearing Real

While some fears are healthy and are what keeps us alive, known as the fight or flight approach, many irrational fears are not. Many lives are ruined by fear of one thing or another. People often feel that their only option is to go through life popping pills and potions in a bid to numb their senses. This approach only serves to; put off the inevitable panic attack, or to live only half a life in a self imposed prison.

Some fears have roots that are a little trickier to find and these may lie in our past lives. Through hypnotic regression you can be taken back to the lifetime where you will discover the root cause of your fear. This is done carefully and gently, you do not need to relive the incident but can view it from a safe a distance as you would watching a movie. This information is then integrated into your current lifetime.

Once you see these fears as nothing more than projected memories of your past they will lose their grip on you, but only if you are willing to let them go. You may ask why anyone would choose to be in the grip of such an overwhelming negative force. There are a number of reasons for this; some people actually like the attention it brings them, it makes them feel special, they are made a fuss of. For others it’s a way of avoiding doing something, or of trying something new. You often hear someone say “oh you know I CAN’T do THAT!” because they don’t want to. Someone close to me will actually manifest illnesses to get out of doing things that she fears, rather than facing them; the last time resulting in a nasty attack of shingles. The first step in ridding yourself of fear is to really want to, more than anything else. It’s like quitting smoking; if you are not 100% committed to it you will fail over and over again. You have to do it for you, not for anyone else.

Fear hides in the shadows, when you talk about things and “bring them to the light” they lose their hold on you forever. Fear loves darkness and secrets; it shows its power by distorting the facts and clothing them in illusions.

This brings us back to;

As discussed earlier, to be cautious is natural, it is what keeps us alive, but living in fear is not. After all you wouldn’t walk out across a busy road without looking both ways would you? You wouldn’t drive along the road with your eyes closed either. It is caution that keeps you from doing these things, however, fear wouldn’t allow you to step out of the house, or allow you to get into the car in the first place. Finding a balance between the two is the healthy way to live.

You have stood on the edge of the path and looked both ways for long enough now, the coast is clear, so take a deep breath and cross that road. The only obstacles you face are the illusionary ones in your mind.

Today, I have two simple questions for you. Please think carefully about them, and find a way to act upon them.

1 What risks would you take today if you weren’t afraid?

2 Is what is stopping you really a valid reason, or is fear deceiving you again with smoke and mirrors?

    You’re right! But in medical and psychology perspective, you can find FEAR exists in “-phobia” which is not really good.

    Article is so true. It’s funny that I was talking with a friend this morning about her fear of animals (all animals). Something that I, as an animal lover, find extremely sad. She said her fear stemmed from a nightmare she had as a youngster about being knocked down by hundreds of puppies that she felt was trying to hurt her. I believe some version of this dream really happened, and the nightmare came later, but she was too young to remember the event. So sad that such a fear would keep her from enjoying the love and friendship of any of the beautiful animals in the world.
