1. Art work

Does you kid have a passion towards drawing, painting or any type of art work like cutting pictures and pasting in a sheet? Then keep lots of such items handy. Make use of them when you need to complete your task.

2. Puzzle work

If your kid is of kind who loves to search answers for questions or love to sort out things, then puzzle boards are your choice. Have lots of them at home and every time when your kid nagges you during your work, occupy them with these puzzles.

3. Conduct Competition

Even the participant is a single kid, conduct it. Give the kid a book of color pictures and ask to count how many apples are there in that book or give him / her a box of flash cards and ask to separate vegetable cards alone from that. This will help them to think while working.

4. Involve them in your work

If your work is not official and if it is something like cooking or cleaning the house, then involve your kid. Trust me, they are one best, lovely people of this world, who will help you, if you tune them correctly. For example, if you are cooking, then keep them aside and ask them to pick vegetables one by one and give to you for chopping or ask them to pick the chopped vegetables from your board and put in a bowl. Give them the job of separating vegetables from your shopping bag and put them in separate baskets.

5. Television, the last and the least option

If you really have some serious work and have no other option working, then you can make use of Television. But again, this should be the last and least option, as it is really not a good choice. Watching TV for a long time would spoil your kids eyes as well as brain. Kids who watch TV for a long time are proved to be less in thinking innovative. They are just addicted to watch it. So, avoid this option as much as possible and use it only for very minimum time (like 15 to 30 minutes), if you have something to be completed quickly, like having a telephone interview for 15 minutes or so.

Your ideas are very good for keeping kids busy. I would also get them out in the yard to run off their energy.
