Procrastination is something that we all have to face. It is the little devil that messes up our day. After reading this article, you should have a pretty good idea of how to relive this extra unwanted stress.
Keep A Organizer. This is essential. Without an organizer you can forget about something that is very important, and there for strengthen your habit of procrastinating. With a organizer, it prevents you to forget about things, and allows you to get proactive and get things done. Put deadlines in there, along with the chores that you need to do in the future.
Set Goals. Set yourself goals to help you get stuff done. Time yourself doing a common chore, like cleaning the bathroom, and next time you do that chore try to beat your previous time. Also, give yourself rewards for when you accomplish a task.
Schedule Your Day. Don’t just say, “I will do that sometime today…” because then most likely you will never do it at all. Schedule your day. Get it down on paper. Arrange your tasks in there most efficient order, and you can even give your self some free time.
Hard Stuff First. Don’t put the thinks that you hate doing last, put them first! Once you get the hard stuff done, it will feel a lot better to do the easier stuff. Too many times will people do the easy tasks first and end up not doing the hard tasks at all.
Make It A Habit. Instead of having procrastination as a habit, make being proactive your habit. It may take time to eliminate your bad habit, but over around a month of practicing the steps and documenting your progress, cleaning the dishes or cleaning your room will become a normal thing that you can do without effort. Once you achieve that, it is all down hill.
And those are the five main steps that you can take so you become more proactive. The key to all them, though, is believing in yourself. If you believe that you can do it, you will do it!
