Five Steps to Eliminate Bad Breath
It takes more than just brushing your teeth to eliminate bad breath.
A clean mouth does not stink, and brushing alone will not clean your mouth adequately and stop bad breath. All the bacteria from your mouth must be removed and kept at bay by moisturizing your mouth to get your breath fresh smelling and keep it that way.
To get rid of bad breath, start with a thorough brushing with toothpaste. Follow the brushing with flossing to get rid of the between the teeth food particles and bacteria that you toothbrush can’t reach.
Clean your tongue. Your tongue is exposed to the same foods and bacteria as your teeth and needs to cleaned. Use your toothbrush to scrape off food particles and bacteria or invest in a tongue scraper to clean your tongue.
The next step is to use mouthwash. A mouthwash which contains zinc or antimicrobial properties will help keep your mouth clean and breath fresh for up to 12 hours.
The last step to eliminate bad breath is to use breath mints throughout the day to keep your mouth moisturized. When you suck on a breath mint, it stimulates the saliva glands in your mouth. The saliva washes out the bacteria from your mouth and keeps your breath smelling fresh.
