Five Things You Don’t Have to Fear You’re Missing Out On

Don’t feel left out just because your friends have been going on about how awesome it is to be “high” on “club drugs” and other illegal substances. They may look like they are having a good time and experience pure bliss, but at the end of the day, it is their brain cells that are fried, and not yours.

  1. Smoking cigarettes – even if you do roll your own or socially smoke off your friends, think of the financial bills down the line, medical insurance, doctor’s bills, etc. Plus once you start smoking, your, clothes, breath, and fingers – they all reek of cigarettes. Not very sexy now, is it?
  2. Illegal substances – Don’t feel left out just because your friends have been going on about how awesome it is to be “high” on “club drugs” and other illegal substances. They may look like they are having a good time and experience pure bliss, but at the end of the day, it is their brain cells that are fried, and not yours!
  3. Getting back with an ex – Fearing you’ll never find love against by thinking your ex is THE ONE even though both of you are so not made-for-each –other is hopeless – and a waste of your scoping-out-new-guys-time! Instead of pining over him, think of the possibilities of a new relationship. Remember what new-love feels like exactly?
  4. A super irresistible sales – A sale you absolutely can’t resist set up an atmosphere of a supposed “urgency” where you simply must buy something if not you’re losing out. Don’t fall for this gimmick as stores like these just wont to make it difficult for you to shop the competition. And although sales and promotions are normally for a limited time period, a store that respects your intelligence and dignity won’t torture your with (Fear of Missing Out).
  5. One-night stands – It’s exciting, fun and thrilling at first, but when it comes to having a major night of bonking a Stranger, it may not be all you hope for! According to research conducted on-line and published in the Journal Human Nature, when it comes to one-night stands, women often regret because  a) they still tend to feel “used” or b) the sex was not as satisfying as they’d hoped for. Plus the world is too small; you might discover that your one-night standee also did your ex-best friend.

    I definately think that alcohol should have been included in your observations, especially as it is directly linked with the social acceptance and ‘do as i do’ mentality.

    i agree with numbers one, three and four.

    and yeah, one night stands are ultimately unsatisfying most of the time, but not always.

    however, your wrong about the illegal substances my friend, lsd and weed don’t fry your brain cells, alcohol does. in the words of bill hicks: “not all drugs are good, alright? some of them…are great.”
