Cover the Muzzle of Your Rifle
A condom can be used to cover the muzzle of your rifle. This protects your weapons barrel from water or prevents debris from clogging the rifle. Keeping your weapon in proper working order can be the difference between life and death in a combat situation. It also means the difference from eating or going hungry if you are stranded in a survival scenario.

Keep Fire-Making Material Dry
A condom can be used to keep fire making material dry in wet weather or environments. Matches or starting tender can be placed inside and the top tied to secure it all. If the condom your using is a lubricated model make sure to rinse this out and allow the condom to dry before attempting to use it in this manner. One of the top reasons for death if someone is lost is hypothermia and being able to make a fire would prevent this.

Hold Drinking Water
A condom can be used as a container to hold drinking water. As before I would strongly recommend rinsing the condom if it is lubricated before filling it with the water. In a desert environment even the small amount of water that could be held could allow survival for a day or two. The time that this allows you may let you be rescued or for you to reach a populated area.

Use as a Bandage in an Emergency
A condom can allow you to make a bandage to stop bleeding in an emergency situation. If you use a rag or torn piece of clothing pressed onto the wound you can use the condom to tie around the cloth to secure it in place. The elastic nature of the condom also adds pressure to the mix. This temporary bandage can be used until medical attention can be acquired.

Float Small Items
A condom can make a floatation device large enough to float small items. Take for instance you have been the victim of a crash, be it plane or boat. You are in a life boat with only the survival kit that came with that model and you find some quick snap glow sticks. You can blow up any condoms with air that the members of the boat have on their person and attach the glow sticks and allow them to trail your boat. You have just created an illuminated trail and just increased your chances to be seen from the air ten fold possibly saving your life.
