Five Ways Make Yourself Happy
Create a happier you with these simple life changing acts.
First accept completely that your own state of mind is within your control. We are aware of the events that are going on around us. We need to accept that often we cannot control anything beyond our own outlook and response to these events.
If we worry about all the terrible things that might happen in the world at large or in our own personal “world” we will feel anxious and discouraged. This is very unhealthy. A lot of research work has been done in this regard. We read frequently that anxiety and stress can have very bad physical effects on our bodies. These include, high blood pressure, heart disease and reduced immune systems.
Here are some simple suggestions for improving the quality of life.
- Create your own positive affirmations. Use positive self talk to replace negative thoughts. Use the present tense and first person when you do this. Here are some examples. “I am strong and in control of how I view the world.” ” I am surrounding myself with good energy.” ” I am creating positive health for myself through my thoughts and ideas.” When you are feeling worried, read them or say these things to yourself and you will likely begin to feel better. You will be using these thoughts in place of the disturbing things that come into your mind through outside influences such as the daily news or statements made by careless people who have had a negative influence on you in the past. My favorite personal affirmation is ” I am just right.” This helps me because at times I’ve thought I must be perfect, which is, of course, an unattainable goal.
- Say please and thank you. This will help you appreciate everything around you. Say this first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Be thankful that you have waked up to a new day and it is ahead of you, full of possibilities. Say thank you at night to honor yourself and all you have accomplished during the day. Say please whenever you make a request to honor those whose help and serve you.
- If you have a problem you want to solve, tell yourself before you go to sleep that you will have some fresh ideas about it in the morning. Chances are pretty good you will have some new ideas about what is troubling you. Be open to this accepting this information. You are offering a suggestion to your subconscious mind which will help you solve problems.
- Give yourself permission to release yourself from feeling guilt. Accept that we all make mistakes and move forward with that understanding to behave differently in the future.
- Be hopeful. Expect that things will get better and circumstance will improve. With this attitude and approach to life, you will find yourself making positive changes in every aspect of your life.
Accept that your mind is your most powerful asset and a postive attitude is the mainstay of good health.
