Frustrating Internet Scams

This article’s purpose is to warn viewers particularly people trying to make digital life cheaper and easier with the internet.

What I did

To attend my financial and entertainment needs I used the Internet to search for products and services to help me with my needs.I searched for Internet Speed increase and game copying programs. Broadband is expensive these days and dial up is so much cheaper. Games are becoming more fragile today and I could use a backup disc.

What I fell For

When I got to a site that lookedgood enough to buy from I bought a Internet speed increase.” Increase Internet speed by 400%, I thought. I also thought the product would work.It LOOKED like the site was legitimate and fair, it had; flash looking products, a tidy website, Testimonials, and all the works. I paid $80 New Zealand dollars for that. The first night I saw no improvement. The second, nope. A week later I emailed for support and I asked some questions. They replied with info about the product not even answering my questions. I sent more  emails and still I got the same reply. After this product I got stupider and stupider and fell for more scams one actually gave me a refund which was good. (The game copy product was basically the same)

What I should have done

Before I purchased these products I should have:

  • Thought about the consequences
  • Read reviews about the products on the web
  • Get information about Internet speed increase ( Some of my computer geek friends said that you cannot get a Dial up speed increase unless supplied by telephone company)

Look Out For

Testimonials: Most sites fabricate them, see if they sound human or realistic

Testimonial photos: See if it looks like if it was dine by a pro photographer. Real ones look like basic cell phone pictures etc.

Don’t Do What I Did

I was stupid, I just carried away and wasted heaps of money
