Getting There
Tips on getting ahead in life.
I met an artist last week who although living in a desperate situation, looking for places to sleep and night and walking through his day have dazed, said I should refer to “The Art of War”. That is the title of a very old Chinese book on how to prepare yourself militarily and how to surprise your enemy. The book can be read by pacifists as well as activists as the book goes deeper than just describing techniques in warfare. It has to do with how to face life especially if you take it as only opening certain opportunities and not others.
Now I am not about to buy the book but I do think that there was a good message there and that is one has to face the world in an assertive manner if one wants to succeed. That attitude does not come about by waiting for things to fall on your lap. It happens by making situations work for you and one can read many books on the market that will tell you that. At the same token one strategy is to leave as many doors open as possible and no to burn your bridges. One has to take charge of ones life and how you want to get ahead too!
So for other people looking to further their careers or wanting to get ahead, it is a good idea to create opportunities for yourself and not allow yourself to be manipulated by others. It may take two days or years and years but I would never give up.
