Giving Too Much Importance to Small Events
In life you will have to face small events that will tear you down, that will make you want to hide yourself in a hole and worse things but you need just to move on.
Sometimes we give too much importance to very small events. You might think that you are not one of these persons but the truth is you are. For example, have you ever got angry at someone that sent you a hate email? Yes you did. Why did you do that? You will never see that person in your life, you can block that email or you can report it to the authorities so why did you even bother?
Most events we get angry at will be completely forgotten after just one week, sometimes in a month and after a few years we will never be able to remember them again.
Our brain keeps only the latest and the most important content in memory. The neurons that have low importance information will be disconnected and instead only the most important ones will continue to grow connections.
We all have to face bad situations everyday. Your computer will crash, your internet connection will fail and many other things. People will insult you, people will try to hurt you. With all these events most people will break down but you must keep going because you need to be strong enough not to give any importance to situations like this.
The next time you are worried about what other people are thinking about you, just realise how much time you waste thinking about other people.
The truth is that you spend more time thinking about yourself and caring about yourself than anyone else on earth, and each person is just exactly like you, so no one is caring about you.
The next time you need to do something important and you fear rejection or criticism just remember that no matter what you do, you will always be crucified by most people.
That’s life!
