Goal

Leadership is a skill which we can achieve with constant pursue. It is not so difficult to be a leader if one tries to break those barriers which are keeping us away from being there.

I know those days when people were said to be born leaders. People of the likes of Gandhi, Mandela etc who are well acclaimed as born leaders were said to BORN LEADERS. But if you closely scrutiny these great personalities, it will be revealed that they were not born leaders they were with time and practice made into such magnificent and charismatic leaders.

Gandhi during his childhood days was merely like any other kid, a very normal child with all fears, shyness and what not. It is with time and learning that he turned out to be a leader who the entire nation followed and under his great thought and thought leadership a nation fought and struggled to gain its freedom. The thought leadership which he could build and preach across to numerous minds across the length and breadth of the great nation like India is some thing which is achieved over a time of strenuous practice and disciplined living.

If you are clear about your goals in life and strongly believe in a vision it’s not far that anyone one of us can inculcate in us the same strength of leadership. But the question is, are we clear about our goals!

Sometimes we take quite a long time to realize our own goals while racing towards living our life. Time is the greatest factor which no human can defeat. Today what we need is to develop the sense of urgency to set our life goals and then work towards achieving it.

Once you have done that, we need to constantly work towards achieving it. During this many obstacles may come and go which we have to fight from within and overcome. A man without a goal for his life cannot even dream about being a leader. Therefore, my opinion is let us all first set our life goals then we are ready to take the next step towards being a leader.

So first let us write down what is all that we think we need in our life. Some may start with material things like money, other worldly pleasures. But let me remind you goal is not object bound or material bound. A goal is some thing which tells in whole about you, what is that you are? Goal is that achievement that you would set for yourself to feel complete. For eg, “I want to be an accomplished scholar, that is a goal. So how do you start? Start by being a good student in your school. So let us all not forget to set our goals.

Your goal makes you work towards achieving it and in that process you become a leader. Leader isn’t the one whom a lot of people follow blindly. It is one whose life inspires others and motivates them to be like them. You do not need a stage and a microphone to speak loud and announce that you are a leader. Your deeds will make you a great leader.
