Good Manners
It is truly said that manners make a man.We judge a man from his manners.Good manners means conduct which does not give offence.A man of good manners will go out of his way to see that he does not hurt the feelings of others.
Decent dress,charming manners,etiquette and politeness are the prerequisites of good manners.A person should have good manners with his words,action,behaviour,gestures or even silence.In company,good manners demand that we should take only a fair share of conversation.We should give everybody else a chance to speak.Whenever somebody is speaking,we should not interrupt or laugh or pass remarks.That counts on a persons character.We ought to listen attentively.We should give an impression to the speaker that we respect him and value his thoughts.We should never speak ill of a person behind his back.While waiting for a bus or a ticket or an interview we should never try to bypass others.If there is a queue we should stand in the queue and wait for our turn.Good manners are an outward sign of a gentleman.They reflect good breeding and culture.A mn of good manners will put everybody at ease.All will enjoy his company and everybody will welcome him.He is sure to create a very good impression everywhere.His smile and pleasing manners will do half the work if he has any work to be done.A man of good and pleasing manners is quite at peace with himself and with rest of the world.Life is easy,smooth and friendly to him.Bad manners generally spring from arrogance,pride and self-centredness.Hence we should avoid them.Good manners spring from our sympathy for others and from the awareness of our own limitations.Our sympathy for others is born out of our genuine regard for them.We ought to realize that just as we value our self-respect,others,too,have the right to value their self-respect and dignity.Courtesy and kindness enhance the self-respect of all.The essence of good manners lies in the realization that we should always treat others as we expect them to treat us.Good manners plays an important role in a persons life.A person with good manners will always be helpful and kind in nature.Parents should see to it that their child has good manners at a younger age itself.Good manners are based on consideration for other people.You gain affection in return for good manners.A person who has good manners will come up with flying colours in his life.
