Hand Sanitizer: Every Dog (or Pig) Has Its Day

How the hand sanitizer went from the last row of the bathroom cabinet to the front-row seat.

Not to make light of the seriousness of the situation, but the spread of the Swine Flu/ the H1N1 virus and the accompanying panic did  put ‘Hand Sanatizers’ and ‘Face Masks’ on America’s heavily wanted list. At out home too, as I scratched my brain on what could I do to protect our little ones – daily scrubs right after school  to no-school to no-public outings to the ‘rule of the hand sanatizer’. Everyone coming to our home was greeted with the sanatizer spray alongside the ‘hello and welcome!’.

It is amazing how this little bottle so neatly tucked away in the bathroom closet has now become the main weapon with which I hope to fight these damn germs and protect my precious little ones! The hand sanatizer was bought when we brought the baby home and wanted all visitors to sanitize their hands before touching our precious bundle. However, it soon became apparent this request was bordering on rudeness, so before we even realized it the sanitizer bottle was forgotten and we were lost in our baby’s love. With the attack of the Swine flu, the ‘Hand Sanitizer’ is back in its rightful place – the first thing to greet after entering our home!
