How a Village Idiot Can Become Smart
Yep, anybody can be really smart. It’s not something people are born with, but rather something that takes effort. This guide tells you how you can make yourself smarter.
If you are reading this in the first place you are probably pretty smart. You were looking for information, and that’s what “smart” is. The more you look around on websites like this the smarter you will get. In theory.
So what exactly does it mean to be smart? Usually it just means knowing a lot of things. You would consider someone else smart if they were always telling you things you didn’t know before. So if you want to be smart you can’t just find these facts- you have to know them. So you can tell everybody else. Remembering may be a problem for some people. But I think I’ve figured out a way to help things go from short-term memory to long-term memory.
You’ve had that feeling that you’re supposed to be doing something, or you need to remember something, right? That’s what my idea is based on. I’m not good at explaining things, so I’ll compare your brain to a computer. Try visualizing this if you’re afraid you won’t get it. Whenever you want to access a file on your computer, it takes a moment to load. Then it brings up a window. A window in this example is anything that you are thinking about. The more tasks you try to perform at once, the more windows you will have open. So let’s now say that you are working with an operating system that automatically closes your windows about 30 minutes after you stop working in them, faster if you have a lot of windows open. The feeling that you should remember something is like a little animation that starts going as the window closes. If you really don’t want to stop your work in another window, you may just ignore it and continue working in a different window, so the closing window gets closed and the data in it isn’t saved.
What you have to do is just remember to open that other window and hit the “save” button before you forget whatever it was you were thinking about. About every half hour of your life, just go through your brain and try to think of everything that you have been thinking about recently. You should be able to remember it again later on. And remember how I said it would close the window faster if you had a lot open? Try to open fewer windows by not concerning yourself with trivial matters, like random gossip, and even if there is some special person in your life you shouldn’t think about them unless you actually have to (going to ask them out, reciting an apology, etc.) I personally have very little to think about most of the time, so I remember almost everything.
