How Can I Get What I Want?

One day, I woke up and said to myself I am sick and tired of being derailed from my goal. I’m tired of something always coming up that moves my goal further out of reach. So I grabbed up some paper and a pen and I started to write my book by hand! I have almost three chapters so far. Since I made time despite my obstacles,  I have seen other changes as well. I get up early, write a little. I get my housework done early, so I can write a little more. My husband is such a supporter, when he is home and I am busy writing away, he cleans up after dinner and makes sure I am not disturbed. Once I took charge and stop letting the obstacles run me, the obstacles were then removed. Sadly, my PC still runs like crap and I won’t use it for my book, but I still will get on here and write my articles. It might take a bit more effort to get it out there, but I don’t let it stop me. I am doing what I love.

Doubt is the crusher of dreams. It is initially designed to make you rethink your steps to be sure the right choice is being made. Truth be told, if you don’t get a handle on rational thinking as opposed to drowning in our own doubt, your goals are only a dream. Self sabotage can kill a great idea. Just as when I wanted to write my book, I doubted if I had anything anyone wanted to read about. Looking over my chapters, I have found I believe I have a really great book that a lot of people will enjoy and maybe even relate to. 

Changing how we think and not allowing doubt to dictate our every move or non move, takes practice. Therefore, in order to get past the doubt, we should look at it as a huge wave coming…you can either duck under it and keep going or let it take hold of you and take you back to shore. You are your biggest strength. You cannot control anyone else, but yourself. If you find that you have this itch that needs scratched and its out of your reach, grab a stick. Staying positive and not letting the obstacles hinder your goal will just like magic, make those obstacles easier to get through or even make them disappear altogether. The ones you have to man through and deal with, makes you come out even stronger.

Make a list of short term goals and exercise your ability not to let doubt creep in a sabotage your goals. From there, this same practice can be used in bigger goals. Soon enough you can have anything you desire. You just have to want it bad enough that no doubt and no obstacle is too hard to get through to get you there!
