How Can You Recognize Lazy People

Lazy people are not vigilant enough. They don’t seize opportunity when it is presented to them.

They cannot recognise the favourable season from the unfavourable season. For them all days are as good as other days. Their philosophy is “let’s live life in the present and the future will take care of itself” “The only thing to do is to wait”

“Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labour.” (Proverbs 12:24)

Lazy people cannot take initiative.

Lazy people tend to be non creative and lack imagination, therefore cannot take the initiative to change their situation. In difficult time they won’t even try to make the least possible move. “It’s too hard” they say thinking that even their action in those dark moments could be foolishness.

Or else if they try something they do it without conviction and quickly back off. In fact it’s not even an effort it’s simply an eye wash, a kind of stupid action to relieve their conscious from guilt of being lazy. “At least people can see that I have tried something but it did not work”

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” (Proverbs 6:6-11)

Lazy people are opportunistic.

Lazy people are too lazy that they cannot find ways to create an opportunity for themselves. They dream and expect things to happen. If by any chance success knock at their door or if by coincidence someone does offer the opportunity to them, this also they cannot recognise and value. They become opportunist. Instead of putting effort at work to help, they instead take advantage of the situation to become more lazy and expect that the person who offered them the opportunity would do the work all by himself/herself and they would enjoy life.

“Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, So is the lazy one to those who send him.” (Proverbs01:26)

“To those who send him”

says the bible. Some people are also too blind by their secret obsession and intention that sometimes they invite people whom they think are the appropriate person/s to fulfil their dreams but who are in fact …”vinegar to” their “teeth” and “smoke” their “eyes”

Lazy people are coward people

Lazy people very often self-induced fears.

Lazy people are afraid to try new things because they fear defeat. Failure is shameful so they avoid trying. Deep in their mind they know that they have to work to bring food on the table but still do not do anything. Their inactive body and restless mind produce tension and frustration and they constantly worry. They have deep inside of them an unexplained feeling of fear.

The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside!” or, “I will be murdered in the streets!” proverbs 22:13.

This portion of scripture is exactly right concerning lazy people. All excuses are justified to avoid working.

Laziness is a destructive power. If you are lazy and if those above mention traits resemble yours then you should get rid of them before they destroy your life. It will not only destroy you but also those you are connected to. Be it your wife, husband, boss, colleagues. Nobody either likes to be in the company of lazy people. Don’t wait for somebody to change your situation, it’s your life you have to take matters in hand.
