How to be Happy

An article that wants to lift your spirits up, by showing you that happiness is really easy to attain.

It is a little odd that of all the topics that came up my mind, I chose to write about “how to be happy”, when people already have ideas on how to. To some people, being happy is as simple and as natural as breathing, while to some, it is a constant struggle. I am here to tell you that being happy can be really very simple or a struggle, depending on how you choose or view it to be. Here are some of my secrets to being happy and staying happy.

Choose to be Happy. You have to realize that you are in charge of your emotions. No one can make you feel bad without your permission. If someone or something upsets you, deny it’s access! Do not dwell on it, let it go and move forward.

Think Happy Thoughts. It may not always be easy to always think of happy thoughts especially when you’re going through tough times. I suggest you keep a note to yourself reminding you of all the things you should be happy about. Remember that you are in charge of your emotion, so if you don’t want to feel bad, you can always choose to be happy. No one is stopping you from doing so.

Love yourself. To be truly happy, you should be comfortable with yourself. You should be proud and content of everything that you are. If you are happy with yourself, you will not feel insecure or disappointed, or you would not easily be upset by what others think of you. Love yourself!

Believe that you deserve to be happy. If you truly love yourself then allow yourself to believe that you deserve all the good things and all the happiness life has to offer. Do whatever it is that makes you happy- pursue your dreams. You deserve them.

Don’t ask why. If you find yourself exceptionally happy, don’t even bother to ask yourself why or how it came to be. As i have said, you deserve to be happy, there’s no point in analyzing how or why; just know that you should be.

These are only some of the tips I can share with you on how to be constantly happy. The key ingredient here is to always be positive, being pessimistic will only cause you to be more depressed and make the problem look so much bigger than it actually is. Being happy is a perspective. If you feel bad, try to think of it in another angle, change your perspectives, you might realize that the situation isn’t really as bad. Stay happy and always choose to be happy, the rest will follow.

    Love this article. We do have the choice to find happiness in life or not. This article is a good reminder of that. :)
