How to be Less Superficial and More Open to New People
How do you look past the surface and make a friend in everyone you meet?
It can be hard to make new friends. Especially when you’re forced to. If you ever had to move schools or you’re moving onto college you know the feeling. You don’t know anyone. Everyone knows each other but you. They’re probably curious about you. What about when you meet someone you want to know. A handsome guy? A beautiful girl? Well, that’s the reason you shouldn’t want to know them. Because once they do something you wouldn’t think they would, your respect for them will drop.
That’s why when you want to meet someone new, it shouldn’t be because they appeal to your eyes. It should be because you want a friend and they want a friend in you.
Here are a few ways to boost your chances of making great friends in new people.
1. Smile.
It doesn’t cost you anything. And a smile can brighten someone’s day. So smile, even when you don’t know them. A smile can open the door to a beautiful friendship.
2. Spread your generosity
Be kind. You only live once. Got spare change? Put it in a charity box. Do something for someone and don’t expect anything in return.
3. Don’t speak evil of others
Even if someone has annoyed you, don’t say anything bad about them behind their back. Instead, confront them in a proper manner. They’ll be grateful you did.
Best wishes!
