How to Become More Intelligent

You may become more knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects if you are willing to apply yourself accordingly. I take you through the steps you will need to employ in order to become more educated.

Step One:  First you will need to start opening up your mind a bit to various matters in relation to a wide array of subjects.  This will allow you to become a more interesting conversationalist and overall better communicator.

Step Two:  Secondly, in order to accomplish tasks associated with Step One you will need to search out materials wherein you feel you may have an interest; however, as of yet do not have a great deal of personal level experience or knowledge.  This does not mean you have no informational background as to the subject at all:  it simply implies you could stand to learn a great deal more about your area of interest.

Step Three:  The third step is to seek out books on the subjects you are most interested in initially pursuing.  You could certainly visit your public library in regard to this activity or visit a charity store and find books and periodicals relative to your subject.

Step Four:  Next, you will want to start pulling areas out of your subject that hold your greatest interest.  In example, I decided I wanted to become as knowledgeable as possible in the area of history.  Therefore, I found all of the following areas I wanted to pursue:  under historical events, I became intrigued with World War I and World War II as significant historical sub-subjects (of interest).

Secondly, another sub-classification was historic places and architectural elements associated with a certain period of time and within certain regions of the world.

Step Five:  I began researching these areas of interest and archiving my findings.

When you research, and in your recording of your findings start writing things down you generate more enthusiasm as to your subject of interest.  Also, in the archiving of these findings you psychologically feel some type of possession as to the subject matter of which you have made a new factual discovery.

Step Six:  An area wherein I find a great many persons highly neglectful is not recognizing the value of the old literary classics.  Although, it is nice to recognize the best sellers there is much to be said about the richness and uniqueness provided in way of the classics.

I cannot tell you how many occasions I have visited a bookstore and have seen such treasures at reduced rates basically ignored.  If anything, such classics are like high quality nutritional foods one adds to his or her diet:  Just as these types of foods add health and vigor to the body, good classic reading will add vitality to your thinking; therefore read these “treasures” in addition to your other areas of curiosity.

Step Seven:  Develop a routine of physical activity each and every day and eat healthy foods.  This kind of self-discipline if not making you smarter, will certainly help you look more intelligent.

Step Eight:  And this last step is for the ladies out there:  Learn to be graceful in all that you do.  Approach your work with diligence and forethought and if the environment does not allow you to do so seek ways out of your situation.  Always employ the esteemed attributes of self-confidence and non-disclosure.

As old-fashioned as this sounds a woman cannot be celebrated as intelligent if she does not practice grace.
