How to Build Self Esteem

It is important to have self regard for yourself and your abilities.

Amazingly it is interesting to see how powerful a healthy self-esteem can be to a persons life. It is true that a child who is always told they will not amount to anything will believe it.

Why not change that around and only speak of the great abilities that can be accomplished by us. It is not neccesary to continue that recording. Stop the low self esteem language and replace it with how much ability is within us.

There is no limitations on what we can achieve in our lives. The only limitations are those set by ourselves. Belief is the start to great things.

Who you become in life has little to do with what others think of us. Only when we allow the thoughts and actions of others influence our behavior does it have the power to keep us from achieving our goals.

Peer pressure is one of the main causes for self esteem issues. The herd mentality is dangerous for some, especially if the crowd is a bad influence on our ability to do great things.

Self-esteem is just that it is something that is within us and with in our control. Become self aware and be able to take any negative thoughts and turn them into motivators to overcome these issues.

To help in gaining higher self-esteem is to change the language we speak to ourselves on a daily basis. Tell yourself that you can, you will, and you are capable.

Believe in yourself, stand behind your dreams. Do not let them slip away because of lack of self belief. The amazing thing about our brains is that it does not know the difference between what we say and think and actuality.

What I mean by this is that if we tell ourselves and others that we are great, the best and successful in life then it becomes truth. 

It can also have the opposite affect as well if we tell ourselves we are not capable then it becomes truth.

So why not take the higher road, train our thoughts and our words to fit only the best we can be.

Helpful ways to build self-esteem is to read and listen to positive and motivating CD’s, Books, Recordings.

Take seminars that are meant to bring out the best in you and your life goals.

Learn to love yourself first and stop seeking validation from others. Just remember you are okay the way you are and you are getting better each day.

Avoid anything such as bad association, in person or in print because these visual, and auditory images of negativity can sabotage your whole lifes plans and lead you to depression.

Surround yourself around people who will support you and help you maintain a happy, positive and healthy lifestyle.

    Sound advice. Another good way, and especially if your self esteem issues stem from your appearance, is to get involved in exercise. Set some goals and be reasonable about them. You will not only feel better about yourself for losing weight, toning or bulking up, but you will also feel good about yourself because you accomplished something.
