How to Complain
Five simple tips to remember when complaining anywhere about anything.
1. Be confident, nobody will take you seriously if they can see that you are a quivering wreck that will not stand your ground.
2. The customer is always right. As long as your complaint is valid then you have every right to complain about it, do not let them intimidate you. If a product or service is not satisfactory then complain about it. This is not up for discussion; you are not satisfied and therefore are complaining.
3. Visualise the end result. It is no good complaining if you do not know what result you deem satisfactory, as not knowing whether to accept the first offer of compensation will make you look foolish. For example a problem with a meal should result in a replacement meal or the item being removed from the bill not a free meal for 6.
4. Keep copies of all correspondence. In some case complaints may take a while and result in many correspondences between yourself and the company, always keep copies of everything as the companies will often deny knowledge of your initial complaint and ask you to start the complain again. This is just a ploy to make you give up.
5. Never give up. If you have a valid complaint and believe there should be substantial compensation arranged then do not give up at the first hurdle. Many companies will ignore your first complaint, so complain again. If you do not feel their first offer of compensation is adequate then tell them and remain strong. If you do not hear from them for 3 weeks send them a polite reminder as they will be hoping that you will have got bored and given up.
So remember: be confident, you are always right, visualise the end result, keep copies and never give up, you will get there in then end.
Good luck and happy complaining.
