How to Enjoy Life to The Fullest

Some things make life pleasant, others make it miserable. Here are ways to enjoy life although the these pointers may not always be easy to follow.

1) Make up your mind to be happy. Find pleasure in simple things.

2) Make the best of your circumstances. Everyone has sorrows. Seek ways to make smiles outnumber tears.

3) You can’t please everyone. Don’t let your critics run and ruin your life. The more you accomplish, the more resistance you will meet.

4) Don’t borrow trouble. Imaginary problems are heavier than actual ones.

5) Hate poisons the soul. Do not cherish grudges. Avoid people who make you unhappy.

6) Don’t hold postmortems– brooding over sorrows and mistakes.

7) Do what you can for those less fortunate than you; especially for those who have blessed your life.

8) Keep busy. A busy person doesn’t have time to be very unhappy.

9) Seek, love, and worship God everyday.

10) Read God’s Word and obey it.

11) Follow the Golden Rule.

Hi, I like the advice…. now if we could only get people to follow it, that would be even better.

I agree that we have to make the most of our lives right here and now.

I agree with #8 to a point, but staying too busy can also cause a drop in personal attitude. That’s just my opinion though. Thanks for sharing, and have a nice day.

Excellent! Keeing yourself busy is a great way to be distracted and focus less on problems. Hate and revenge poison the soul. Great tip that you mention to stay away from those who bring unhappiness. What advice do you have for someone in your life that is a friend but is such a negative person that anytime they call is only about them? And everyday for the past several years that I have known a friend of mine it’s the same story. I am going to have to start charging for consulation. Great work Athena. thanks for sharing. marlene

A great piece. I agree totally, and will add: We must be thankful for the things that we have, and learn how to enjoy them; instead of grasping for those things that we don’t have, and can’t have. These contribute to discontentment and unhappiness in life.

    Thanks Athena!
    Your work is always meaningful.
Marlene, sometimes you have to tell people the truth in little bits you know.
I mean if your friend keeps calling about the same thing and you don’t want to hurt their feelings, you may not want to give it to them in one blow.
However it also isn’t productive for them to be at the same place year after year.

    Thanks for your comments.

Marlene, Sharifa is right. You have to tell your friend the truth in bits and pieces. A true friend would learn to accept the truth knowing that you wouldn’t want her to keep wallowing in self-pity. Letting your friend know that her attitude is unproductive both for her and for you would at least hopefully knock some sense out.

thanks for sharing, simple things in life will make us smile. Sometimes happiness depends on our own expectations, too much expectations can make us difficult to be happy.
