How to Get a Great Tan
Getting a tan not something that happens in one day. It takes days, weeks, and maybe even months. Some people think that if you go out, get burnt, then wait a week that you will have a tan. This may be true but it will not look good, and the pain involved is not worth it!
To have a nice even tan, you will not want to lie in one spot. The risks include being dark on one side and not the other, and the chance of falling asleep and burning yourself. To get an even tan you will have to move around frequently, this does not mean lay down and flip over every 5 minutes. Doing activities can ensure you don’t miss a spot on your body.
Here are some great activities you can do that are easy and will help with that tan!
- Go for a daily jog or bike ride some time between 10 am and 5 pm!
- Mow the lawn!
- Clean the yard, or maybe do some landscaping!
- If you have a pool, go swimming. If you don’t, find an outdoor community pool!
- Do any cleaning duties for your home pool, like brushing it daily!
- Play Frisbee, catch, or tug of war with your dog!
- Get some friends together and play a game of some sort!
- Wash your car! How about your neighbors!
- Jump on the trampoline!
- Play in the sprinklers!
- Go camping at a city park for a day!
- Eat outside or have a cook-out or Barbeque!
These are just a few of many things you can do to get a little sun. Here are a few tips to get the most of sun!
1. Wear the appropriate clothing for the type of tan you want. (If you want your chest to be tan, don’t wear a t-shirt)
2. PUT ON SUNSCREEN! Don’t think burning your skin will get you a darker tan. It will ruin your skin! You will still get darker with sunscreen on, and the sun won’t damage your skin as much.
3. Do a few of the activities every day for 30 minutes to a few hours. Be extra cautious past 5 hours in the sun
4. Check your skin every 30 minutes. Reapply sunscreen if needed. If slightly red, get out of the sun for a while.
5. Have fun, Tanning shouldn’t be an activity! A tan should be a reward for what ever activity you just did!

Interesting article, whenever I think of a tan I think of laying i the sun all day. When I go fishing in the sea I usually get a tan. Sometimes a burn if I don’t put enough sunscreen on.
