How to Get Rid of Laziness

Most of the people in this world always have a complaint that they don’t get enough time. 24 hours look less for them. Are they really that busy? No, they are not busy, but lazy.

Most of the people in this world always have a complaint that they don’t get enough time. 24 hours look less for them. Are they really that busy? No, they are not busy, but lazy.

If you ask a friend to help in your assignment, he/she would say “I am too busy. I have no time to complete my own works”, but if you ask the same friend whether willing to join a movie, as you have an extra ticket, most probably the answer would be a YES. Your friend can create a room for that extra time to spent on the extra ticket you have. This is not only applicable to your friend, but to you also. Most of us try to show our self busy so that no one disturbs us, remaining lazy.

Sometimes, I remember how I used to tell lame excuses when friends call for a get together or for a picnic. I just love to sit in the couch and stare at the television without any aim. Just loved to remain lazy and hate to move my body from left to right or vice versa. But something struck me strongly and forced me to give up my laziness. That thing is my “HEALTH”. The pot belly and the screaming weigh machine gave the alarm inside me. Now I am fighting against my laziness, leading to loneliness and my loneliness leading to laziness. I am almost able to win over the situation. So, here I am to share the secrets of how to win yourself from your laziness.

1. Buy a weighing machine

This point may look stupid to you, if you don’t understand the deep meaning inside it. Most of the people who are lazy will be of overweight, as they never love to do exercises or to do something that keep them fit. The mirror you watch daily won’t tell you that your weight increased by 2 kilograms in the past two months. But your weighing machine will do. So, buy it first and keep checking it often. This will ring the alarm inside you, if you love to keep yourself in shape and have a little care about fitness.

2. Watch your friends circle

Try to be in a group of active friends, instead of a group that loves to munch a pack of snacks and chat with a tea cup in hand. When I included few friends in my circle who are health conscious and talks about exercises and yoga daily, I felt myself forced to do something, just to keep myself in par with them.

3. Utilize chances

When we are lazy, of course we won’t create chances to get rid of it. But we can make use of the chances, which come on our ways knowingly or unknowingly. For example, you need to buy some groceries today and you missed the bus. Why not take a walk and enjoy the other road side shops and window shopping? When you do this once or twice, then automatically you will feel like walking, even though you didn’t miss the bus. It is like, “Take a bath when you accidentally fall into the river”. Make use of chances.

4. Positive thoughts

Yes, your thoughts too matter. If you have low energy and have self pity like “No one likes me, I am useless”, etc… then you will always feel lazy and sit in a corner. Instead think positive and have a self respect on yourself. Instead of being a receiver, try to become a motivator. This will attract more friends towards you and makes you more active.

5. Brisk walk and Exercises

At last, start some physical activities. Once when you do the above 4 steps, your laziness will start  shedding from you, giving space for you to go ahead and win yourself. Again, utilize that chance and start doing some exercises along with brisk walk in the morning or evening or both.

There is no need to run behind a gym or some one else to make you active and give up your laziness. Once when you realize yourself, things will work for you and do miracles to enlighten your life. Good luck.

Very good tips to get rid of laziness, but it is bit costly to buy a weighing machine when you can check up our weight so easily and cheaply now and then that too with BMI etc. Thanks for sharing.

Great way to get rid of laziness, but I find that most lazy people are also tend to procrastinate. I personally find in my household, the lazy ones need a list, not too long but a to do list. This slowly gets them motivated.
    Great article

Very truly analyzed, Meetu. Laziness leads to lame excuses and procrastination… I already have complied with your 1st and 2nd points (have a weighing scale, though scared to look at it often…:P have positive thinking always and am happy about it). Friends’ circle is something which I do not have (except in the virtual world). Utilizing chances…I do as far as possible.

Now last but not the least: walking and exercising: I constantly regularly “think” a lot about it. Need to act more on this.

    Good tips to shed laziness.
