How to Have a Satisfying Life

Because of our competitive business environment, companies are pushing their services to its highest level, pressuring employees to stretch their capabilities to the edge.

In today’s fast-paced world, many modern-day individuals are pushing themselves to the limits – taking two to three jobs resulting to weekend business conferences, evening meetings, regular client calls, and the likes. This is on top of their daily household activities like doing the groceries, baby-sitting, walking the dog, etc. Most of these individuals collapse into bed at night… exhausted.

Because of our competitive business environment, companies are pushing their services to its highest level, pressuring employees to stretch their capabilities to the edge. It also compels employees to spend more time in their workplace than their home and to prioritize their job over their family. As a result, modern-day individuals often put themselves under gigantic pressure in order to be successful in their work, to earn more money, and to experience everything they can possibly can. They have raised the bar of their own expectations and they usually cannot forgive themselves if they are unsuccessful in meeting their anticipations.

Both you and I are probably guilty of the above circumstances. Our chaotic schedules and extreme lifestyles have stolen from us the peace, happiness, laughter, and satisfaction of life. We have become too analytical, too systematic, and too critical of our actions and as well as actions of other people. Since we lack time, we fast-track our judgment simply by looking at the cover of a book instead of its content. Also, we condemn simple mistakes like a missing period at the end of a sentence with total disregard in its inspiring message.

Our life is no longer satisfying because we live our life to work and we have very little time to enjoy it.

In order to have a satisfying life, we must work, we must enjoy, and we must rest. This is the simplest way to have a satisfying life. Try it.

They say that if you find a job you really love, you’ll never work a day in your life. Writing for Triond isn’t exactly a job, or a career, but I can hardly wait to boot up the computer in the morning, and I find it hard to take the breaks that my body needs.

The work-life balance is such a difficult one for many people. You give good advice here – let’s work to live, not live to work!
