How to Lift Your Mood
If your personal and professional situation is getting you down, follow these simple ways to get back in control.
Have healthy food
There is a connection between mind and body. Healthy food not only fills you up, but also makes you feel better.
Have lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains that will not only improve your health but also your mood. To ease mood changes, one should have omeaga-3 fatty acids like fish such as salmon, tune and mackerel and vitamin B-12 like flax seeds, nuts and dark green vegetables. You can mix them with your favourite food, if you don’t like to eat them plain.
Avoid caffeine

Avoid consuming excessive caffeine in the form of coffee or cola drinks as they can make you anxious and jittery. Cutting on this caffeine and beverages can make a big difference to your mood and will give you better sleep at night.
Treat your problems
If you are suffering from chronic pain and aches, it can cause depression and make your situation worse. Consult a doctor immediately to stop avoiding these nagging pains, and once you get treated, you will start feeling better.
Relax yourself mentally
Try to relax yourself mentally to restore a sense of calm and control. Try to do yoga or meditation or listen to your favourite music for 15-20 minutes everyday. You can also go for a walk with your friend or either hit the gym or join aerobic classes. You can also ride a bike or play tennis or do swimming. These physical activities will do wonders for your body. You will feel much better; you will eat well and will have better sleep at night.
Take up a cause
Get yourself involved with some social work, as it can help you gain in a sense of purpose in life. Devote few hours each week for a social cause like teaching street children or helping the needies. It will also help you to connect with lot of new people and doing new things will help you to feel good at heart.
Be creative
If you are a creative person and love painting, photography, adventure sports, trekking or writing. Take time from your busy schedule and fulfil your passion and enjoy yourself.
