Stretch marks are a pain to both men and women, caused by excessive weight loss or gain, pregnancy and body building. However, there are some small changes that you can make to your skin care regime in order to both prevent and reduce the appearances of them.

To effectively beat stretch marks try and moisturize your skin from head to toe with a body friendly lotion, working in circles to improve circulation and improve the quality of the skin. During pregnancy you may want to make this regime more regular and spend a little more time on doing it and this can help to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. There are plenty of moisturizers on the market and there have been some specifically designed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Try looking for one that contains cocoa butter as this has been proven to be effective in the fight against the pesky scars.
Drinking more water is another way in which stretch marks can be effectively prevented and reduced. This ensures that the skin is as hydrated as possible and can allow for more elasticity and new skin cells. Ideally you should be drinking at least six to eight glasses of water per day and this can always be added to diluting fruit juices to make it taste a little better.
Preventing stretch marks can be easy if you know how and there is no real need to spend a small fortune on different beauty products. By making a few small changes to your diet and skin care regime you can ensure that you are as protected as you can be against these ugly stretch marks.
