How to Start an Interesting Conversation with Anyone
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to talk to anyone and everyone around you. Read on to find out how it is all done.
I am in the phase of my life where I am still improving even though I can open up a group of strangers within seconds.
I have listed down a few of these tactics which hopefully can be used by anyone and every one.
1) Show Interest in the people around you:- Now this may sound weird or dull to many, but this is always something that most people don’t take it too seriously. If you do not show interest in other people’s lives then how do you expect others to show interest while in a conversation with you?
2) Open up the crowd around you:- If you see a group of your coworkers talking to each other/ having a laugh, a normal opener can always be used to open up with the group. If I see my colleagues at work having a conversation and a laugh, I would just walk up to them and say something like ” Hey guys, sorry to jump into your conversations with each other but I was getting bored a little and thought I’d join into this interesting conversation and share a few laughs.” Every one Likes a new guy breaking the ice in a friendly non threatening manner.
3) Your stuck in a crowd having no clue who they are and are feeling weird being on your own. (usually a pub/bar setting):- Everyone is with their friends and your on your own. What would you do over here?. If your thinking what I’m thinking then your probably right, you go ahead introduce your self and comment on the environment around you -the people, where their from and how different people get together from different working places. You could literally talk about anything you like, it doesn’t have to be a set of lines as long as everyone is feeling comfortable around you. The best way is to crack a joke that is not too personal.
