How to Survive a Business Meeting

When in a meeting, there’s always one thing I do, use my imagination.

It sounds a bit childish, but it really works. Sometimes I think of ironic ideas that could happen to the speaker, and sometimes I just focus on upgrading what he/she’s explaining. Either way, you can have fun.

A few suggestions to imagine are distorting the speaker’s face, changing his/her voice, adding things from popular commercials/games to the background, something dropping from the ceiling, or even having rain fall when a bad joke is told. Anything you can create in your mind that might be funny works.

If that doesn’t work, try to change the scenario into making a new invention, and keep that goal in mind. If you forget your goal, things can get boring. Use your imagination to create new objects and add them to the speech. Who knows, you just might have a strike of genius in you.

My last suggestion to you is to relate past memories to the current situation. It can be fun to remember your last trip to the beach when the speaker mentions something even vaguely similar (like water).

Remember to pay attention to the meeting. It could be bad if you don’t listen.
