How to Wake Up

Many teenagers struggle with waking up in the morning. This may lead to bad grades, grumpy moods, etc.

Waking up at 6:00 in the morning is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do consistently. There is only one solution to this horrible problem:

Self Discipline

In order to wake up in the morning, you need to force your self to get up. Sounds easy? Yes, it is probably easy to THINK about getting up in the morning, but DOING is a whole different thing. You could build up confidence in yourself by thinking about getting up, but it will never be the same as actually getting up.

Now you are probably thinking, “Well, how am I supposed to wake up?”. If you are a teenager then I am guessing you probably go to bed at around 10-12  o’clock at night. There is your problem! The first step to an easy wake up is going to be on time. Now, an easy way to do this is to go to be 10 minutes earlier than you did the night before. Do this for a few days (or weeks) until you feel more comfortable getting up in the morning.

Still not getting up? What you can do now (after you have a comfortable new bedtime) is set an alarm clock to blare an annoying BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP at you every morning. This will force you to get up and turn off the alarm. The only problem with this is that some teenagers get right back into bed after turning off the alarm. Doing that will not help you. Actually, it will make your problem worse. Instead of getting back in bed after shutting off the alarm, you can sit in a chair or on the floor until you feel awake enough to get up and prepare for the next day.

If you are one of those people who sleep through alarms, get a family member to wake you up with a gentle shove or maybe a slap on the back.

I hope this article helps anyone who struggles with getting up early in the morning!
