How to Win a Sweepstakes Contest for Free Stuff
Winning at a sweepstakes has far better odds than winning the famed multi-state mega-millions or similar lottery jackpots. Plus, with a sweepstakes, there are many prizes awarded randomly to participants. Here are some tips to help you on your way to winning free stuff.
- Step 1: Research the web using any search engine of your choice for “online sweepstakes.” If you find a directory to your liking, it will be all the easier. You’ll see that most contests allow you to enter once per day with the exception of contests like the Orange County Choppers 10th Anniversary Sweepstakes which only allows one entry per weekday.
- Step 2: Bookmark the entry form portion of each website into a folder for easy use and to also keep away your secret from prying eyes. In the description field of each bookmarked page, enter the end date of the contest so you don’t waste your time trying to enter one that is expired. While some sites shut down afterwards, others just enjoy the eye-time of visitors seeing their product.
- Step 3: Pick a time of day to enter the contests and always enter at the same time. By developing a routine, you will be more likely to actually enter the sweepstakes rather than trying to find time throughout the day to complete the entries. A good suggestion is to either do it before work each morning or right before you go to sleep at night. Otherwise, find what works best for you.
- Step 4: Be patient. 99.9% of sweepstakes are monitored by some form of agency that overlooks rules of contests and don’t forget that companies use it as a write-off on their taxes so it is in their best interest to give you the free stuff. At some point, a package will arrive at your door or a phone call from an odd number will come your way and you will actually be one of the lucky winners.
Step 5: Beware of email spam that says “you’re a winner.” Only open up these emails if you have an updated anti-virus. Most sweepstakes will notify you by phone or U.S. mail for that reason. Always better to be safe than sorry.
Best of luck!
