Human Nature
After getting a slightly negative remark I decided to elaborate just a little on the article “The Secret to Getting What You Want in Life”. Here you will find an example of why I choose to believe it.
It’s human nature to lean toward the negative things in life.
I mean after all isn’t it human nature to want to hear the tragedy stories? Don’t we all love to watch the “Law and Order” and “CSI” type shows? Don’t we stop and listen more intently when they’re talking about some tragedy on the news? Don’t we all have to look to see if someone got injured badly in a car accident when we drive by? We’ve been conditioned to think and believe that way.
I myself have decided to start practicing thinking and believing positively. I mean after all it doesn’t hurt anything or anyone to think that way so why not try it? Although I was once a negative thinker until one night when I suddenly understood what I had heard for many years. I’ve heard preaching on faith for years but something inside me that night changed. I understood it from a place deep inside me that I can’t explain, and now I choose to think and believe with faith. I hope everyone someday gets that understanding of faith. Why spend your life being negative when it’s just as easy to be positive? After all people that are big successes with lots of wealth will tell you to think positive about whatever it is you are doing in your life and that’s where real success starts.
Here’s the thing, it’s only been a couple of weeks since I got that understanding in me and I’ve been practicing it and already things are looking better for me and my family.
My husband and I have struggled with money since day one. We didn’t have insurance for our family most of the 24 years we have been married and so our kids never saw a dentist and only went to the doctor when they were really sick. I myself only went to a doctor when I was pregnant and the only other time I went to a doctor after that was when I was having pain in my knees that I couldn’t stand. I found out that I had arthritis, the doctor gave me a prescription I couldn’t’ afford to pay for and so I haven’t gone back. I take over the counter medicine that works ok. But I still suffer more than I want to.
Last year my husband was hurt at work and had to have surgery on his neck. He was nearly paralyzed because of the injury but luckily it happened at work and workman’s comp took care of everything. But in the meantime he was out of work for over a year and workman’s comp only took care of part of his pay. Now he’s not 100% back to normal but the doctors are finally releasing him so he can started back to work 8 hours a day. We have always just barely scraped by.
Now I said all that not to make you feel sorry for us because that wouldn’t do anyone any good. I said it to say that since I’ve been practicing faith with an understanding of it, things have started turning around for us. For once we have had money to pay our bills on time and had some left over to do other things with. We can finally get new tires on our mini van. And other things that seem trivial to some people. We have had some money in the bank now for over a week. Money is starting to come in from places I never thought it would come in from. It’s not huge amounts of money but it’s more than we have had. And my knees are feeling better each day. I have had psoriasis for a couple of years now that has really bothered me and (Call it coincidence) it is now starting to clear up. I truly believe it’s because I am not giving up on faith.
I’m believing that what God promised us in the bible is true and I’m accepting it. I’m excited and looking forward to what my faith can bring after practicing it for a while! You can choose to believe it or choose to leave it. I’m choosing to believe it!
