If It Was Easy, So Easy, Would You Want That?

What we desire the most is also the most difficult thing in the world to have. We all love to see the final of any championship because getting the victory in the game is tougher than in any other game.

Things that give more status to what we want are: Scarcity, Difficulty, Mystery.

If you want to have more status in any social circle you need to possess the three things above. If you make yourself too available you lose status, if you are not mysterious you lose status, if you are easy to go out with you lose status.

Let’s see now how about the promotion or the income you want so much. I am sure you would want it to be too easy so you could get just clapping your hands.

The truth is that as soon as you got it, you would be unhappy again, because it was too easy.

If the goal you want to achieve, whether it’s a salary goal, or a research goal in your lab, or a business record, that achievement will feel good to you only and really only if that thing is very difficult to make.

Things have no real value if they are easy to make.

You can see that for yourself on any computer game. The icon that describes an easy mode is a small cup, and the icon that describes a hard mode is a huge cup, much more beautiful and many times bigger and brighter.

If you want more happiness and success in your life just start making things a little harder for yourself.
