Know Yourself

King Asoka, the great warrior king realized that it was not enough to conquer men. He had to lead a more meaningful life. He gave up war and began to spread teaches of the Buddha.

Goutam Buddha was once a prince. He gave up his kingdom, wife and son in search of the truth. This was his way of discovering himself and the meaning of life.

Galileo’s father wanted him to be a doctor, but Galileo secretly studied mathematics and at the age of eighteen, he had already discovered the law of the pendulum. Galileo, at a young age, was able to recognize his own talent.

We spend most of our time in trying to know and analyze others. How many of us really try looking at ourselves? -Very few.

Do you really know your own capabilities? Do you know all the things you can do? Are you doing enough? Can you do a little more?

There is a little voice inside you that gives you all the answers.

You have so much to find out about yourself, so, spend a little time everyday in trying to do this.

What lesson is there to be learnt from such men? Their lives teach us to understand ourselves. There is so much within us that might be wasted, if we forget to know ourselves.

Each one of us has certain strengths and certain weaknesses. Understand your strengths and correct your weaknesses.

Some of you may have a talent for writing or art.  others may be good at mathematics or science. There are still some of you who may feel they want to become teachers, doctors or lawyers. Many of you many feel the need to serve your people by becoming social workers or even soldiers. Whatever you may want to be, remembering always to recognize your own qualities and talents before is deciding. This will bring you success.
