Live for the Moment
Savoring the present is vital to our happiness and well being, here is advice to help.
“My advice to you is not to inquire why or whither, but just enjoy your ice cream while it’s on your plate.” – Thirnton Wilder.
We rarely live in the present moment, believing that what counts most is the future. We postpone our happiness, convincing ourselves that tomorrow will be better than today.
To savor the present, you need to truly live in the moment. Whether you are having lunch with a friend, reading a book ar bathing your child, stop and step outside of the moment and review it.
Relish Ordinary Experiences
This may be difficult, but learn to savor the mundane, everyday things. Consider the pleasures of the day: eating a meal; taking a shower; the journey to or from work. Bask in the feeling of accomplishment of finishing a job either at home or at work instead of rushing on to the next job.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise that they were the big things.” – Robert Brault.
Celebrate Good News
When you, your spouse, or friend enjoys success, congratulate them (or yourself) and celebrate. Try to enjoy the ocassion to the fullest. Don’t shy away from pride, pat yourself on the back and tell yourself you worked hard for this success and have earned it. Do the same for others.
Be Open to Beauty and Excellence
Allow yourself to truly admire an object of beauty or a display of talent, genius or virtue. It might seem difficult to experience awa in response to mundane daily life but it is an ability worth cultivating. Don’t go through life wearing blinkers to everything that is beautiful, virtuous or magnificent.
