Man Up: It’s Time to Cry

Since the dawn of time, men have been the pillar on which society leans upon. Any display of emotion would be seen as weakness and looked down upon.

But in this new age of female emancipation and equality, its time for normal guys like you and me to open up our hearts and let the tears flow. There’s no shame. Its just a legitimately manly way of expressing your deepest, most sincere emotions.

To prove this, below I have listed examples of when I have, on occasion, shed a tear or two.

In movies:

1. The Notebook – we’ve all seen it and, yes, it is a chick flick, but one that tugs at the heart strings of even the hardest M.A.N
2. Independence Day – love randy quaid. Ultimate dad idol
3. The Lion King – Obvious
4. Spiderman 3 – not so obvious

Through song:

1. Stairway to Heaven (Led Zepellin) – one of the most emotive solos EVER on one of the best songs EVER
2. I Believe I can Fly (R Kelly) – say what you will about this piss-on-children-paedophile rnb singer, but this song is the shit
3. If I Were A Boy (Beyonce) – make all the jokes you want, but this song shows why Beyonce will go down in music history
4. 迷 (Super Junior M) – after such a long wait, it was everything (and more) that we expected from the boys… plus Zhou Mi
5. Love Story (Rain/Bi) – same as above, but without Zhou Mi

Real life situations:

1. (Near) Break-ups – these always get us, dont they boys
2. Cutting onions – its not emotional, its chemical
3. Criticism – no one likes to hear about how bad they are at this and that. Crying is our response and our way of telling the critics to fuck of

To be honest the list can go on, but I’m starting to feel a bit emotional atm, so i’ll stop.
