Never Be Intimidated
There’s nothing worse than walking into a scary new situation and feeling small. Here’s your plan to get back to feeling large and in charge!

- Ask Question. When you’re talking to someone who makes you nervous, bring up a topic you can both relate to. In colege interview, for example, ask about one of the cool classes you read about. It will remind you that you can find some common ground with anyone. And suddenly, you’re both on the same level!
- Just Fake It. It sounds crazy, but acting as if you’re confident actually tricks your brain into thnking you really are as assured as you look. Make small adjustments in your body language, like pulling your shoulders back to stand taller and making eye contact. Even if you’re not feeling secure, no one will know!
- Smile. If your nerves start to take over, forcing a smile instantly eases tention and say “I’m not afraid of you.” It will probably make the person whom you’re talking to act jst a little bit warmer, too–you may even get a smile in return!
- Stay Present. It’s only natural to want to bail when you’re scared. But try to stay put for just one minute. Once you see that you can survive, try to go one minute longer. (Take three deep breaths to keep your heart from racing.) You’ll prove to yourself you can handle awkward situations and deal better next time.

Great advice. The most important thing to keep in mind is that we all are basically alike. We all have our own personal fears. The difference generally is that most confident people know they are confident. In other words, we become the way we constantly think we are.

Great advice! I have done all of these myself, but the best thing to do is to put your all in what you’re doing and get good at it. Then you know you’re good, and the confidence will come.
P.S. That is one of my favorite movies. I have watched it over and over again. I really like the part where she changes her look. Which by the way, can also boost your confidence.
