"Giving away tips on how to spot a liar, is not the same as preventing being lied to!"

I don't believe that preventing lying is what the book is all about. It simply gives enough tips to spot liars so you know not to get burned by them again and again.

The tips are showing you how to recognize when you are being lied to instead of just taking the person's word that they are telling the truth. This helps you make better decicions when looking for someone to trust.

I particularly liked your last paragraph. But your line about overcompensation does not ring true with me, as I always am trying to get the whole picture and find the real culprit. I work in management at a large discount store chain, and once in awhile there are cash shortages. We need to sift through all of the facts in order to determine who caused it. When you work management, you are always responsible for shortages, so you better have all your facts. I would definitely like to know how to spot the liar.
