Overcoming Your Fear of Success

Learn to stop sabotaging your chances of success when you are on the verge of having it all.

Being afraid of success may sound odd because there is not a person in the world that would not want to be successful. All people who are successful have plenty of money, a nice car, people who clean and cook for them; the list is endless and contains every form of luxury that most of us cannot afford.

The reason that success can be scary is that we are all afraid of change. Success can be hard to cope with as it can change your life in such a way that it becomes quite threatening and this is why people fear success.

The steps below will not make your fear go away completely but they will help you on your way to success.

Always try and figure out why you are afraid of success. Talk to people that you are able to trust and always be honest with them and with yourself. By simply accepting your reasons of being afraid then you will be able to meet them head on and this will give you a certain sense of being free.

Another large sign of being afraid of success is when you are not prepared for your work that you are doing or maybe you have not prepared for an exam or presentations then you are sub consciously defeating your self which in turn is affecting your chances of success. The more you are prepared the better your chances of getting rid of the fear that you experience.

There is an old saying that basically states that if you have tried your hardest at something but have failed in getting the best outcome then you will feel devastated. In truth it is the exact opposite. We do not feel devastated at all we just learn from the experience. This is what helps us grow and this is how we can overcome fear.

Always be sure to stay out of your comfort zone. You should never be afraid to ask questions about anything to anyone no matter how afraid you are of the response. If you are always feeling fear then you will learn how to deal with it.

Always try and compete against yourself whenever possible. If you are competing against others then this can usually take away the best that is within us. By competing against yourself then the only person you can ever beat and lose to is yourself.

Always try and develop skills that can be changed and adapted so that you are never fixed to one or two levels of success you will be able to achieve a variety of levels. Always try and change and develop your skills as you go through life. This is where you can educate yourself by way of new techniques but if you can follow all these steps then you will be on your way to losing your sense of fear.
