Persistence Pays
If you badly want to succeed in your endeavors and achieve all your goals in life, you must have persistence. There is no substitute for persistence. You’ll find out that persistence does pay in the end. But how do you acquire persistence?
Introduction
There is no doubt that the starting point for all achievements lies in DESIRE. But do you know that desire alone cannot ensure your success? You need more than just desire to get what you want in life. And that essential quality is PERSISTENCE.
Indeed, without persistence you will not get very far in what you do or strive to do as lack of persistence is one of the major causes of failure. In the course of your endeavors you are bound to encounter setbacks and failures whether big or small. You’ll be disheartened, disillusioned and discouraged. You’ll want to throw in the towel and give up. So if you do not persist how are you going to succeed? Think about that.
The basis of persistence is will power which when combined with desire make an awesome pair.
You will soon notice that those who have a lot of persistence will eventually succeed. They have the never-give-up and never-say-die attitude. No matter how many times they fall, they will get up and try and try again until finally they arrive successfully at their destination. Do some research and read about these people and their achievements. You’ll learn much and be inspired.
Persistence, like happiness, is a state of mind. You can develop it. You can internalize this habit and make it a part of your character.
Four simple steps to develop persistence:
1. A definite purpose with a strong desire for its achievement.
2. A definite plan detailing what actions to take.
3. A positive mindset free of all negativity and bad influences.
4. A friendly affiliation with other like-minded people so that mutual encouragement and benefit can be derived to follow through with your purpose and plan.
Conclusion
These four steps are absolutely essential for success in all walks of life. Success will come to you if you really make an effort to be persistent. In other words, you must persist to persist in order to make it. So remember persistence does indeed pay. Start today. You’ll not regret your action.

I found this very interesting. I do try hard to achieve my goals. but I am a carer looking after my disabled husband and time to myself is rare. This laptop is my only escape from reality. Judi x

Excellent advice! From my mid 20s I wanted to be able to work from home. I persisted until I was in my early 40s and eventually, at the grand old age of 43, achieved that goal – now work from home as a digital typist in the real estate/property law sector for an outsourcing agency. My next goal? Getting my writing work published professionally so I can ‘give up the day job’.
