Personal Transformation: How to Achieve It. The Extreme Makeover Guide

When we need of a radical change, where do we look for? This article describes how inside us we can find a treasure guiding us to whatever change we long for.

Change is an ‘inside-out’ job. The more radically we want to change our life, our outlook, the more deeply inside ourselves we must search.

It’s true, a few times we may desire in the morning to see a new face in the mirror. There are so many reasons for it. Delusions, frustrations in our career, job, in our sentimental liaisons, in our daily dealings with others, make us think that there must be something terribly wrong with us. True or not (and in many cases it isn’t true!), the ‘Wonder-Game’ starts.

Whatever is wrong, it must be fixed, we think, and with extreme measures. We convince ourselves that it’s time for an ‘extreme Make-Over’. Where to start?

Just look around, there are so many models that could inspire us. TV shows, Newspapers, Magazines, Internet bring to our attention so many celebrities on stage and screen and all look so successful to our eyes.

There are so many models, so many idols to look at for picking up winning ideas for our new outlook. Sure we can find out there at least as many successful blueprints as are our doubts about what to choose for ourselves. Our confusion is right!

Any change we will ever bring to our life will never produce a lasting effect in us if we search outside ourselves.

Sure we have all experienced the instant up-lifting that can come from a new haircut, may be just like that of the celebrity of last night TV show; or from wearing a new dress, new shoes or from frequenting new people, new friends, new clubs, changing our work-environment. All is well for a while. It might just be all we need from time to time; it can recharge our batteries and allow us to move on again with our every day life.

It’s like the feeling we experience after a short vacation, a restful and enjoyable week-end in some delightful place, some distant shores. We had just the distraction we needed for a while and then we can go back to our daily routine refreshed and content of the changes we made; ‘plus’, we are assured that we can do it again when we feel like we need it.

But what about that yearning inside us, that turmoil which does not seem to be placated, fulfilled, satisfied with a superficial change of our outlook or our environment?

Like a new piece of cloth on an old torn dress which can repair the hole but it does not give us a new and desired garment, so it is with our life. Real Change is not a Game. It takes work, an honest work with us or better WITHIN us. A rapid fix won’t get us the results we are looking for.
