Placed Upon a Pedestal

Focus on your true values.

What has value in your life? What do you cherish, or like the title, what (or who) do you “put on a pedestal?” It is more important than absolutely everything in your life….. Right?

So what do you like? Food? Family? Money? A special person? Before you answer, you need to ask yourself this: is it really worth prioritizing it at the very top? It doesn’t matter what it is. What matters is your reason. If you can truly say it is important enough to make your top 10 list, then that is fine! But if you cannot actually give a good reason for putting it up on a high horse, it propably isn’t something you shouldn’t be around.

Reason: if you can’t be around something unimportant without putting it above important things, then you just shouldn’t be near it. Example: Scrooge. He was so concerned with his money, he didn’t care about anything else. (I know this is a bit extreme but it’s a good example) Seeing as he didn’t have a good reason, and it dominated his life, he should’ve been removed from handling it. An example with modern day people: Cellphones. Some people are obsessed with them. I personally have a friend that just the other day he got in a fight with his FAMILY over the cellphone. (Not sure why.) Something wrong there? Putting something that unimportant in between him and his family? If you have conflicts between things you think are important, and things that ARE important, then you need to separate yourself from the less important thing.

Do you yourself have any problems like that? You don’t have to tell me. Tell yourself. Fix the problem before your life is dominated by it.
